Altitude 1,300m-1,400m

"This is a highland swamp called Hananoego, and it is the southernmost highland swamp in Japan. Unlike mountains in the Japan Alps or Hokkaido, snow in Yakushima does not last until spring. Only in the shade and along the sides of mountain streams is there any snow left.
We can see dramatically different views on the beach and in the mountains on Yakushima Island. As we climb up, we feel like we are traveling from south to north. It's very enjoyable."
