The drums of the Scandinavian shamans are also made of wood. The shamans speak to the trees, form a contract with one tree, and gratefully receive a part of it. But: they never cut it down. And: when they strike their drum, trees, its parent, respond like an antenna. Thus: the trees mediate between the shaman and Heaven.
