HSO's concerts feature an excellent concertmaster from Czech Republic: Jan Pustejousky. Born in 1956, he gained diploma from Prague Music School in 1982 by learning from Marie Hlovnova, Jiri Novotny, Nathan Milstein, Sandor Vegh, Gerard Korstern. Here is his recent history.

1978: Made debut as a violinist in Prague Academy Quartet; played the first violin.
1982: Received recommendation from Prague Music School and played with Prague Symphony Orchestra.
1983: Became the concertmaster of Bruno Philharmonic Orchestra. Until leaving the orchestra, performed solo several times and gave recitals.
1989: Became the first violin at Mozart POP Quartet and toured to the former Soviet Union (this quartet went to South Africa in 1990, and Spain in 1995). Also joined a recording of soundtrack for "Living Day Lights", a 007 movie.
1990: Became the assistant concertmaster for Johannesburg National Orchestra.
1991: Performed Brahms's Concerts for Violin and Cello with Johannesburg National Orchestra in South Africa.
1993: Joined Europe Chamber Orchestra as a freelance violinist. Had several chances to perform with its leader, Gerard Korsten.
1995, October: Became the concertmaster of HSO.
