Hiroshima Museum of Modern Art

The Hiroshima Museum of Modern Art was opened in May 1989. It is located in a park on the slopes of Hijiyama overlooking Hiroshima, surrounded by abundant green in famous spot for viewing cherry tree blossoms. This is the first public museum of modern Art in Japan.
Works were collected according to the following criteria.
  • Works of art made after World War II
  • Works related to Hiroshima
  • Works made by young artists

Traffic : approximately 10 minutes by tram from Hiroshima station, get off at "Hijiyama"

Opening hours: 10:00 - 17:00
