The catch of this fish in 1993 was 447 ton and the conger caught in the Ono Seto between
Onomichi and Miyajima is known for its freshness and good taste, which led to its designation
as "Seto conger".
Beside being eaten split and broiled (Kabayaki) or with raw shells, the dressing of the
broiled conger laid on soya sauce rice, the "conger rice", is a famous dish of Onomichi and
Miyajima.
