The Mihara castle construction festival stems from the dances people of the castle town performed celebrating the completion of the castle. The sound of shamisen (3-stringed Japanese instrument), large drums and a lively "Hayashi" (group of drums and flutes providing background music) and the calling of the people among each other, "yassa, yassa", encompasses the whole town spending the summer night dancing. |
