The "Hiroshima flower festival" is held every year during the so-called
"golden week", a group of holidays generally fused into a little vacation
of about 1 week. It is held on green stages of the Peace Avenue. Main events
include dancing, baton twirlers and brass bands integrated with many little
tricks into a gorgeous parade of flower cars.
Also, many entertaining events like talent shows and the like are held
on set up stages or on the green lining of the square.
The flower festival emphasizes the joy of peace and living and thus honors
its name but burying the whole place in flowers and music. During its duration
it attracts more than 1,500,000 visitors.
