The "Clover Phone" with a sophisticated design was released to meet the needs of the single-unit telephone set market in which OPD and switchable telephone sets were the mainstream. This series consisted of two types: the horizontal Clover Phone "you" and the vertical Clover Phone "me." Either type was available in one of six colors including clear white. Designing the Clover Phone with the minimum required functions resulted in its sales price of 12,800 yen, which was reasonable at that time. The simple design and reasonable price made this series tremendously popular among single-unit telephone sets.
