• Distributed computing: Implements the three-layer C/S system in a distributed computing environment made up of multiple application and database servers interconnected at high speed by the ATM network in the three-layer client/server model.
• Database retrieval: Implements an application for high-speed remote access to high-capacity multimedia databases containing electronic component and patent information on WWW and video servers.
• Synchronous collaboration: Uses a system for sharing applications such as word processors on remote personal computers as well as exchanging audio and motion picture data in order to enable synchronous collaboration for product development, arrangement conference, and other task between remote places.
• Remote bidirectional education system: Implements a bidirectional education system with remote personal computers using multimedia information.
