Study the feasibility of a network file system(using a database over a network) by conducting a high-speed, variable-speed communications test between remote LANs.

• Accumulates information on specialties of individual districts, which cannot be placed at the store, in the terminals which have the electronic catalog function using multimedia (including moving pictures, still images, voice, and music) to support stock-less sales and improve order placing/receiving efficiency. This improves efficiency of the entire physical distribution system and reduces the time lag between order placing/reception and physical distribution. In addition, specialty information can always be updated to the latest version by centralized management as the electronic catalog at the single server node.
