Aim to develop multimedia application services using the next-generation ATM-network(broadband ISDN) as a Type-2 telecommunications carrier, and conduct a range of utilization tests and evaluations.

• Interconnect high-speed LANs at multiple sites and establish a multi-point multimedia conferencing system that allows group discussions, using moving images, sound, still images and text.
• Constructs a video database from which video information is accessible at the LAN terminal in any experiment site for research for applying the database to presentation of products.
• Provides in-house information using multimedia and accepts internal reports containing a motion picture by MIME-conformable multimedia mail.
