Examination of the practicality of educational applications using the multimedia network.
Four schools participate in this experiment: the American School in Japan, Kobe Canadian Academy, senior high school affiliated to Tokyo University of Arts and Sciences, and Tsukuba University Affiliated Senior High School. The experiment also examines the differences in utilization and evaluation between Japan and the US.
- Uses the multimedia network and CU-SeeMe software to transmit motion picture information between participating schools to make the following experiments:
- Remote learning
- Collaboration (learning)
- Extracurricular activities on the network
- Inter-school exchange
- Participates in the Global School House Project, an educational project executed on the Internet centering around the US. for collaborative learning and international exchange.
- Analyzes problems concerning the operability of terminals, software, and network, the educational effects of this service, and its application to education, collected from students and teachers by interviewing and questionnairing.
