Outline
Examination of the disaster prevention information system using the multimedia network and of the practicality of landscape investigation
Collects images recorded from satellites and helicopters immediately after a disaster in real time to create a damage estimation map. Making use of distributed data owned by separate agencies, the information systems carries out online operation on the data to quickly estimate disaster-striken areas.
In addition, the system allows remote specialists to examine the detailed disaster image of each striken area to judge whether to permit cars to pass the area and, evaluate the disaster level including the risk of occurrence of a secondary disaster, and to diagnose the recovery method.
Transfers composite picture images, CG (still) images, and motion pictures (typically landscape image) to the field office via a communications line and returns the opinions about the landscape image and correction plans from the field office for examination. Data sources for generating landscape images are stored in the center (JACIC) for external management of basic information for landscape simulation.
