Utilization tests will be conducted for high-speed computer communications, such as high-speed inter-LAN communications and large-capacity file transfer, using user network interfaces at 156 Mbit/s.

Objectives
Network utilization technologies will be created and developed for super-high-speed communications and new applications of computer communications that have not been realized on existing communication lines.

Participants in joint tests Corporate and public research institutes (13 groups)

Testing areas Sapporo, Sendai, Tokyo, Nagano, Kanazawa, Nagoya, Osaka, Hiroshima, Matsuyama, and Fukuoka
(10 cities where network terminal equipments are located)

Testing period From the end of September 1994 to the end of March 1997 (planned)
