It is around 1955, and public telephones always seem to attract long lines of irritated customers. The scene is repeated at every cigarette-shop public phone, and at every tea shop as well. A new type of "telephone cafe" appears, with its own switchboard and a telephone at every table. Many patrons are glad to see this new development, but there are also more than a few cases of misuse by individuals who print business cards with the cafes' numbers and attempt to set up private offices. They all had the nerve to turn up every morning the moment the store opened.
