At NTT, we provide hearing and speech impaired individuals with tools to aid in their communication. We are currently conducting a campaign to distribute "Please Call Notebooks" on which a call back name and number and nature of call are already written so that a disabled individual who wants to make a phone call while out can easily request help from someone nearby. Another memo is made using a "Please Call Back" plastic sheet which can be used over and over again to write various memos. Also, we are distributing "Contact Special Delivery" fax transmission paper. Distribution is through each of our branch and sales offices. The reason we developed this notebook was in response to requests from disabled individuals that public phones be equipped with a minifax as an emergency method of contacting other parties when they are out. Initially, we presented these notebooks to 130 individuals in Nagareyama City, but have expanded the campaign nationwide in response to the very enthusiastic response we received.
