The Howdy Home Telephone DX allowed up to eight units to be connected using two lines and three door phones to be connected, conforming to the home bus system standard specification (HBS) for home automation. This model had a rich set of features, including single-touch buttons for 10 numbers, abbreviated dialing for up to 100 numbers, redial feature, and a display for providing many types of information such as the call duration and the ring volume level. The body color was selectable from among three colors (fresh white, grayish green, and beige). The Howdy Home Telephone DX could provide two different tones to distinguish between incoming calls through the two lines. It could also use the same diversified options as those available with the Howdy Home Telephone SX. The two lines were usable for cordless telephone sets.
