The Howdy Home Telephone SX allowed up to six telephone sets to be connected using a single telephone line and up to two door phones to be connected. The telephone set incorporated a display, allowing the user to easily monitor its status such as the call duration. Also, this model supported the standard home bus system which made it easy to upgrade the system, allowing diversified optional units to be connected. A variety of telephone features included single-touch dialing for up to five numbers and abbreviated dialing for up to 60 numbers. A substantial collection of optional units was also available for home automation, such as the automatic answering unit, telephone charge display unit, security unit, and telecontrol unit. In addition, a line of products in this model included a cordless type.
