On August 22, 1994 a new service allows users who are troubled with nuisance calls to block them out. Immediately after a nuisance call, subscribers to this service can enter a registration code from their own telephones, after which any calls from the same number will be automatically answered by the recorded message, "This is 00-0000-0000. Your call will not be answered. Thank you." Use of this service requires the subscriber to complete a standard application form.
