Embroidered telegrams were introduced as a new type of congratulatory or condolence telegram service on November 12th 1987 (Showa 62). The cover sheet was embroidered with gold, silver, or other thread. Two designs were available, an arrangement of cranes or an arrangement of pine, bamboo, and plum. Along with embroidered telegrams, a deluxe pressed flower telegram service was also started. About twenty pressed flowers were arranged on the cover sheet and a seal with the scent of three different flowers (lilac, rose, and lavender) was placed on the mounting paper of the telegram. | ||
