To "provide telephones promptly when requested" and to "provide connections promptly anywhere" were given as two main objectives when the Nippon Telegraph and Telephone Public Corporation was formed in August 1952 (Showa 27). However, demand outstripped supply causing a state of imbalance to persist for many years after the corporation was established. Finally, 26 years later in March 1978 (Showa 53), the aim of providing telephones promptly was achieved. | ||
