The first DEX2 electronic switching equipment is installed in the Ushigome Telephone Office in Showa 44 (1969) and operated on a trial basis. Subsequently in 1972 D10 type equipment is installed in 8 switching offices including Tokyo's Ginza and Osaka's Senba locations. The electronic switchboard can detect a call from a subscriber's line, verify the destination, cut of the connection after the call and calculate charges, all while managing tens of thousands of lines at the same time. | ||
