By 1972, over 250,000 subscribers nationwide are using pager service. The recently-introduced miniature pagers offer distinct advantages over the older, larger models, and the rate structure is revised in December 1972. New offerings include joint-use and temporary-use services. Joint use service allows two or more pagers to be called simultaneously on the same number, and temporary use allows pager service to be activated for a predetermined limited time.
