In May 1969 the push-button telephone goes on sale in Tokyo, Osaka and part of Nagoya. Originally named the push-button dial telephone, it soon gains the popular nickname "push-phone." Also introduced are abbreviated dialing services and, in Setember of the same year, telephone account services. By December, leased lines go on sale to certain internal switchboard service customers.
