Access to weather forecasts for other cities, which was started on an experimental basis on May 1, 1964, provides Tokyo subscribers with direct dial access to weather forecasts for Osaka, Utsunomiya, Mito, Kofu and Shizuoka, but leads to problems with number duplication at the receiving end. In the decade beginning in 1965 these numbers are reorganized on a unified basis as equipment in Tokyo is replaced, and the special-access number '222' undergoes a number change to '177'.
