A new method of communication combining the immediacy of the telephone with the recording capability of printing, called the telex, is inaugurated with experimental service between Tokyo and Osaka on October 25, 1956. There are 128 original subscribers, 65 in Tokyo and 63 in Osaka. Each subscriber is given a telephone number and subscriber address number for each location. The service allows meassages to be transmitted even when nobody is present at the receiving end. | ||
