This new service is introduced with the objective of promoting the general use of the condolence telegram in society as an expression of consideration. Condolence telegram service accepts both standard formats and custom wording, and is introduced in 1936 on the heels of the successful New Year's telegram service. The restrictions applied to New Year's telegram restrictions are discontinued and the system is restructured to apply to both condolence and New Year's telegrams. Charges are the same as New Year's telegrams for standard wording, but are treated as general telegrams for custom wording. With the outbreak of the Sino-Japanese War in the following year (1937), this is an era of progressively intensifying war conditions. | ||
