With the adoption of the common-battery local switch, the magnetic long distance switch came to be replaced by the common-battery long distance switch. In 1912, a common-battery long distance switch, which had been imported from America, was installed in the Osaka office. It was called the No.1 large common-battery long distance switch. It was used as a standard long distance switch for large offices in America in those days and the first domestic switch of this type was installed in 1919 when a new long distance office in Tokyo was inaugurated. | ||
