Utilization Tests of
CATV Video Transmissions

Outline
Experiments of combined service applications such as CATV video transmission, video on demand (V0D), telephone services and other services through optical subscriber systems will be conducted as a video communication services for subscriber homes in cooperation with CATV operators.

Objectives
New application of bi-directional video communications through optical fiber will be developed.

Standard for circuits provided Video transmission and other functions based on optical subscriber methods (Passive double star method) (Telephone services will utilize ISDN 64kbit/s Interface)
Participants in joint tests CATV operators (3 companies)
Testing areas Tokyo, Chiba, and Kanagawa
Testing period From July 1995 to the end of March 1997 (planned)
