このテーマの上演を試みることは、演劇を志す若者にとってはこのうえのない喜びである。 これは人々に様々な事象を思い起こさせるからである。
　この世界の荒涼とした大地に、人間としての喜びと芸術の善と美に対するあらゆる欲望を追求し続ける人々がいる。 彼らは祖先の残したとても素朴で美しい歌を持っている。 真にあいすべき人々であった。
「思凡」の上演は一つの試みである。 「思凡」の中の台詞の一つ一つ、一場毎の物語と情景、そして一つ一つの動作から一瞬の表情まで、全てが観客の心の中に残ることを願う。 それこそが、私たちの追い求める理想である。
　そして、私たちに感動と信ずる心を信ずる心を与えてくれた先人達に更なる感謝を示したい。 もし、尼の「色空」と僧の「本無」の恋がなかったら、もし、彼らの含蓄のある機知がなかったら、もし、彼らの豊かな表情がなかったら、もし、彼らの抵抗がなかったら、私たちはあの素晴らしい歌声を聞くことは出来なかっただろう。
　最後にもう一度、観客の方々があの歌声と愛情を記憶に留めてくれることを願うばかりである。

Director's remark

ATTEMPT- this word has an endless attraction for young people who like to devote themselves to theatre. It makes people think of a lot of things.
At a certain, bleak and desolate place in the world.
There were some people who collected all the desire for pursueing human nature's brilliance and the acme of perfection of art.
these people, they have carefully collected the most simple and unadorned, the most pure sound of song which was left by our ancestors.
These people were really lovely.
To rehearse SiFan, is still an atempt, we hope in the play SiFan, every action, every actor's lines, every paragraph's story, every scene, and even every expression in a flash, all can make a strong imoression on the audience.
This is an ideal that we pursue we should more appreciate forefathers who brought feelings and confidence to us.
If there is no humorous, interigent language which is full of meaning to hint their heart's response, if there is no flash of amorous glances between them, if they have no courage and wisdom, if there is no stubborn character and revolt of their own, we will have no way to a peep at the long-dawn-out and unbroken love.
Please remember these sound of singing and live.

　一部：若い尼僧の「色空」は、仙桃庵での寂しい日々には堪えられなくなり、恋を求めて庵のある山を逃げ出した。 逃げる途中、同じような思いで碧桃寺から逃げてきた若い僧「本無」と出会う。

　二部：ある村に一人の正直者の男がいた。男には美しい妻と娘、そして生まれて間もない赤ん坊がいた。 一人の若い男が娘に恋をし、何とか彼女を手に入れたいと考えあぐねた末に、友人と二人、旅人のふりをして娘の家に泊まった。 しかし、二人とも夜中に入るべきベッドを間違え、青年は主人のベッドに、友人は主人の妻と寝ることになる。

　三部：とある王国、城の馬丁が妃に恋をした。 彼の姿は王と瓜二つ。 そこで馬丁は王になりすまして妃の寝室にもぐりこむことを思いつく。 事は成功したかと思ったが、情事の後に王に気づかれてしまう。 しかし、王もあからさまに怒っては自分の恥と思い、夜中にこっそり馬丁達の宿舎へゆき、感を頼りにその馬丁を探しだし、目印をつけるためにその男の髪を切ってしまう。 ところが、馬丁もすぐに王の企みに気づき、その夜のうちに他の馬丁達の髪も同じように切ってしまった。

以上は、中国、明の時代の「思凡・双下山」（作者不明）と伊国ボッカチオの「デカメロン」をもとに構成された物語である。

OUTLINE of the STORY

The little nun Se Kong in theXian Tao Nunery wears her days like years, and can't bear the lonliness, and the she escapes down the hill.
On the way, she meets a little mank Ben Wu who escaped down the hill from Bi Tao Temple.
The two young people passed the night in a tavern.
At midnight a young man want to sleep with the hostess daughter.
Hostess thought that another young man was her husband.
Later the first young man slept in the hostess bed, narrowly avoiding troubles.
A couch driver pretended to be the king, slipped into the bedroom of the queen.
The king discovered it, but did nothing about it at frst, the same night, the couch driver was caught again, and the king cut a handful of hair from his pate, never thinking that the coach driver cut all other people's hair in the same way.

It was adapted, according to the chapters and sections concerned from the book "SiFan- two people down the hill" which was written by an anonymous person in the Ming Dynasty and the book "Ten Day's Talking" which was written by Buo Jiaqiu of Italy.
