The rise of computers and the emergence of a vast network of communication channels is one of the most significant developments in recent history. For the artist, it brings the ability to transform the relationship between art-work and audience, to explore new vocabularies of interaction and expression, and to create works that grow, change and connect in ways never before possible. These transformations do not, of course, occur overnight -- we are still rooted in the paradigms of traditional expression. I am looking for works which push the boundaries of artistic communication, ones which creatively and intelligently draw from the past and move towards the future.
