Nomura Mannojo is trying to collaborate and interact with the Western world preserving his identity as an Oriental through GAKUGEKI. GAKUGEKI is a new comprehensive art based on Japanese classical entertainment. It consists of 5 elements: dances, languages, masks, Utagaki, and Mono-Mane. "Dances" is embodied through Daidengaku, and "languages" is embodied through Tojinzumo. Both created a great sensation in Japan and throughout the world. Nomura is now producing "Shin-Gigaku" (which is planned to be completed by 2000) to embody the element "Masks". He founded A.C.T. Japan in July 1996 to communicate with a variety of people through GAKUGEKI.
