Modern Japanese people know DENGAKU as a kind of food roasted on a skewer with miso.
But DENGAKU is originally the name of old musical widely liked in the Kamakura era (the 13-14th century) .
In this musical, there is an acrobatic called "Takaashi" in which a performer climbs a pole and balances at a height of 3m!!
This look like the food DENGAKU (but they never roast human being) .
DAI-DENGAKU is a modernized version of DENGAKU (musical, not food) .
It is an energetic GAKUGEKI filled with lively music, dance, acrobatics.
It's absolutely fun !!
