You may be wondering why there is a "gai-jin" or foreigner on
this page with all of these Japanese. Well, I just happen to be one of their
English Teachers (actually Assistant English Teacher). I have been at this
school about once a week for 1 year.
About me: I am an American from the state of Colorado. I am from Littleton,
an area 15 miles or so South of Denver. But, I am originally from Souix
City, Iowa. I moved to Colorado with my family in 1975, when I was 5 years
old.
Here is a picture of me and my family.
I have 5 members in my family, including myself; my father, mother, and two older brothers. My oldest brother Scott is married to Kim, and live with their three cats, Luvy, Bulgera, and Gustof-san (sorry about the spelling). My middle brother John is married to Tracy. They have a daughter named Kelsey. They also, last I heard, have another baby on the way. My father, Gary, and mother Pam, are moving to Greeley, Colorado soon.
I am also married. My wife is Junko. She is native Japanese. We met while
at Arapahoe Community College. I graduated from the University of Denver
and majored in International Business. Since graduating I have been on the
JET programme (Japan Exchange and Teaching Programme)
Now I live in Nagoya, Japan. Nagoya is the 3rd or 4th largest city (depending
on where you look) in Japan. It is in Aichi Prefecture or State. Aichi is
the largest Manufacturing State (Prefecture) in Japan. Aichi is the home
of Toyota Motor Company, Mitsubishi Industries, and many more. Aichi is
trying to get EXPO 2005.
We live near my wife's family here. She has her grandfather (Ojii-san), grandmother
(obaa-san), father (otoo-san), mother (okaa-san), younger sister (Yuko),
husband (Hide) and their baby (Naoki). And I cannot forget the dog Lucky.
