SUBJ:  Materials for the fourth meeting

DATE:  October 23, 1996

This mailing contains materials for the fourth meeting of 
the Telecommunications Access Advisory Committee which will 
be held from November 6-8, 1996 at the  the American Speech-
Language and Hearing Association offices, 10801 Rockville 
Pike, Rockville, MD.  The following items are included:

  Preliminary agenda
  Revised committee roster (names, addresses, phone, fax, 
etc.)
  Federal Register notice of advisory committee meeting
  September 25-27 meeting summary
  Directions to the American Speech-Language and Hearing 
Association offices
  EIA-EIF Resource Guide for Accessible Design of Consumer 
Electronics.

The EIA-EIF Resource Guide for Accessible Design of Consumer 
Electronics was provided to the Committee by Ms. Molly 
Mannon, President of the Electronic Industries Foundation.  
Ms. Mannon addressed the Committee in September and 
explained that her agency had spent several years drafting 
this document and receiving input from persons with 
disabilities and industry representatives.  Although this 
document has not yet been released to the public, EIF has 
agreed to share this material with the Committee prior to 
its public release.  It is very important that we handle 
this document with care so that it is not shared beyond the 
Committee.  Since EIF has not yet released this document to 
the general public please do not duplicate or distribute 
this material and do not post comments pertaining to this 
document on the listserv.

If you plan to bring handouts for distribution at the 
meeting please bring alternate format copies or provide the 
materials to us in advance and we will make alternate format 
copies available.  We look forward to seeing you on November 
6-8!
