Juli 1945	Two drafts by Prof.Dr.-Ing. Otto Fiederling of covering the site of the Palace with trees (not carried out).
By 1950	Demolition of Auhagen designed Palm House in Berg Garden.
1951	Two drafts (Plan A: April 1951, Plan B: 15th May, 1951) by Prof. Paul Bonatz of a Schloßhotel (Palace Hotel) on the Palace Square (not executed)
1958	Draft by senior architect Karl Cravatzo of a sinking square with pond and trees on the former Palace Square (not executed
1964	Draft of a Look-out Stage with restaurant, named ,Bella Vista", by Arne Jacobsen (not executed).
1964	Installation of a provisional restaurant to the north of the Cascade ( later expands ).
1965-1966	Demolition of the Baroque domestic houses, which surrounded the half-circle-shaped forecourt. Replacement of the substructure of garden stairs designed by Lave from Herrenhausen Palace to the south of the Grotto. Construction of a glass foyer to the west of the Gallery Building by Arne Jacobsen.
1977	Suggestion by chief minister Ernst Albrecht to reconstruct the Herrenhausen Palace.
1978	Draft of a planted Look-out Platform by Dipl.- Ing. Jürgen Haack and Dipl.-Ing. Peter Krüger (not carried out)
1986	Agreement of the city and the state about the announcement of an international competition for the reconstruction of the Palace Square (not accomplished)
