Teresa Marrin--Digital Baton Design, Website Direction, and Baton Performance


Teresa Marrin has just completed her Masters work in Tod Machover's group at the MIT Media Lab, and will be continuing as a PhD student in the Fall. She received an A.B. in music from Harvard-Radcliffe in 1992, where she founded a student orchestra and trained in orchestral conducting. After graduating from college, she lived in India on a Rockefeller Fellowship, studying the Hindustani raga system. At the Media Lab, her work has focused on the design of software tools for analyzing and teaching musical expression. She was the design director of the Digital Baton, and has contributed to many other musical and conceptual aspects of the Brain Opera as well.
