Interview Request
bullet bullet bullet bullet

I am a journalist writing for a publication called Career Explorer Online aimed at high school students making career choices. We publish five articles a day on labor market trends and career information.

I am researching a story on job opportunities in interactive media - multicasting in particular. I was wondering if somebody there would be willing to answer a couple questions via email; alternatively, I could call you for about a ten minute interview. I'm interested in the following info:

1) What kinds of jobs would people do in multicasting? Similar jobs to broadcasting?

2) Why multicast rather than broadcast? Will multicasting make broadcasting obsolete?

3) How long has radio multicasting been going on? Is webcasting/multicasting a growing field to get into? Will there still be lots of opportunity in five years, or do you expect it to peak? What is the scope of opportunity for jobs?

4) What kinds of training programs/schooling/skills do people need to get into this sort of thing? Have there been new programs springing up?

5) Any advice for students thinking of going into this area?

Because I am working on a deadline for this story, I would appreciate if you could get back to me by the end of the day Wednesday Dec. 6.

Thank you for your help!
