Two more questions:

1) Will you still need the existing 10 M connection you have from the press building?

2) Can you tell me some more about what it would mean to be the exclusive metro supplier - what sort of connections would you be buying?

Hi -

A couple things:

1) Peering agreements are not a problem. Already have one with Alternet, MCI and I don't believe I'll have an issue with the others. Remember, we are creating over 1 terabyte of distributed data and the networks are more than happy to sell this to their customer base. :)

2) We have a T3 going into WTN (MCI POP on Connecticut Ave). We will peer with MCI there via HSSI or private Ethernet.

3) We need to link three sites:

a) National Press Building b) WTN MCI POP c) A location where we can peer with MAE-East customers.

4) This can be a single metro-area network, or can be two separate links.

5) Ideally, you give .5 rack in your MAE-East POP so that we can peer directly with the big boys.

6) Ideally, you give us >= 45 mbps all the way through. If we have to live with 10 mbps to the Press Building, that isn't a huge issue. However, 10 mbps from WTN into MAE-East is. The implication of that is that we have to keep searching for more bandwidth. If you give us everything, I'm more than happy to make you our exclusive metro-area supplier (with the possible, though highly unlikely, proviso that if Bell Atlantic ever gets it together we'd like the option of asking them for some T1 lines for satellite locations such as Kennedy Center).
