As one who works for an agency of the government of France I can tell you that your service interuption of the page for the Embassy of France will be understood by a large portion of the population of that Gallic nation.
In general, they would support your actions, but would really prefer if the rest of the world stayed out of their personal beusiness. But, they are French and dichotomies are a part of everyday life.
