It's best to peel the red-brown skin off of these fruits before biting into them: it contains a sticky white sap that is difficult to remove. The sapodilla is among the sweetest of all Thai fruits. The brown pulp that encloses its flat, shiny black seeds has the juicy texture of fruit, but it has a flavor as sugary as jam.
