Plaa muek yad sai muu sab thawd prathiem phrik thai

Plaa nuek yad sai muu sab!

Plaa muek yad sai muu sab thawd prathiem phrik thai is made from small squid which have been stuffed with seasoned minced pork. They are fried with garlic and white pepper that forms the sauce. On top are crispy shreds of crisp-fried shallot.

Congratulations to Jean-Philippe!

We posted this dish as part of our "Stump the Chef" contest. Jean-Philippe Thouard successfully identified the dish as Khratiem Phrik Thai! Our sharp-eyed gourmand describes himself as a "faithful Ung-Aang Talay reader, but also a frog eater." While not optimal, Mr. Talay considers that to be much better than a frog reader and an Ung-Aang eater! (Ung-Aang Talay, for our readers not up on arcane trivia of the Thai food industry, is the pen name of the food critic of the Bangkok Post as well as being the name of the proud sea toad.)
