Lincoln Center Festival 96, July 23-August 3, 1996
The Lincoln Center Festival 96 will be "a three-week explosion of classic and
contemporary music, dance, theater, and more," to be held in New York during
the summer of 1996. Chaired by Beverly Sills and Directed by John Rockwell,
it is a new venture in lively concert programming, featuring performing arts
events in a variety of different formats in all of the facilities at
Lincoln Center. In addition to
the Brain Opera and
Hyperstring Trilogy performances, there will be performances by the Merce Cunningham Dance
Company, the Kirov Orchestra and Chorus, a Vietnamese Water Puppet Theatre,
and the New York Philharmonic.
