"The 1996 Presidential Election" home page is a special event of the "Government and Public Service Pavilion" of the Pavilion of Taiwan, R.O.C. in the Internet 1996 World Exposition. The 1996 presidential election is not only the first ever direct presidential election in Taiwan, R.O.C. but also unprecedented in Chinese history. This web site provides you various presidential campaign related information. In addition, we are cooperating with the Central Election Commission to present a ballot-counting live on the web, starting at 4:00 p.m., Taiwan time, on March 23, the scheduled voting date.
