Kyongp'odae Beach

  Some 6 kilometers east of downtown Kangnung City, Kyongp'odae Pavilion is one of the Eight Scenic Wonders of the Kwandong area.
Just below the pavilion is Kyongp'odae Beach with its 6 kilometer long sandy beach neat huge Kyongp'o Lake. The water is 1-2 meters deep, and the under- water floor slopes down at a gradient of 10 degrees.
Thick pine tree forests add to the picturesque scenery of the beach. Due to an easy access by Yongdong Expressway, the beach get crowded in the peak vacation season.
As famous Mt. Soraksan and Mt. Odasan National Parks are also nearby, it is an ideal site for a vacation.

    Naksan Beach

       Located 16 km south of Sokch'o City, Naksan Beach is 4 km long and 75 m wide. The Namdaech'on Stream from Mt. Soraksan forms a lake near the beach, supplying fresh water in the area. Among the attrac- tions, the view of the sunrise from Uisangdae Pavilion is spectacular.

Mach'ajin Beach
    


    
  Mach'ajin Beach is located 1.5km north of Hwajinp'o Beach and 3.5km
south of Unification Observatory.  Nearby thick pine tree forest 
and the large and small rocks on the beach make the place suitable

    1. 30 km north of Sokch'o, along National Road No.7, is Samgori 
   Checkpoint. 15 km further from here, one can see Hwajinp'o Tourist
   Resort to the right.  3km further, one finds Mach'ajin Beach.
      


    2. 26 km down from the top of the Chinburyong Hill is Samgori Checkpoint.
   18 km straight ahead is the Hwajinp'o Tourist Resort. And 3km further

Mansandong Valley
    

    

  Located  five  km from  Hwachon-up, Mansandong   Valley is a 
popular summer retreat. The 100 meter-high and 150 meter-wide
Pinyo (Hairpin) Rock blends in with the surrounding natural
beauty to  create fantastic views.  Visitors can buy  fresh, 
pollution-free  food such  as wild  greens  and honey at very 
reasonable  prices  in  the  nearby  village, which manages

Pukpun-ri Beach
    

    

   Pukbun-ri Beach is located 15km north of Chumunjin-up. 
The 350-meter-long beach boasts a thick pine forest and clean sand.
The clear blue water is 0.7 meter deep on average and the seabed
slopes gently.  An ideal summer resort for families on vacation.
