Location : Hakkok-ri, Soch'o-myon, Wonju-shi/Hoengsong-gun, Kangwon-do

Mt. Ch'iaksan, which is part of the Mt. Ch'aryong Range, has many scenic peaks including Hyangnobong, Pirobong (1,288 m), Unbong, Maehwabong, Namdaebong and other peaks of over 1,000 meters.
They are lined up from north to south. Encompassing some 182.09 square kilometers of land, Mt. Ch'iaksan was designated a National Park in 1984. Beautiful valleys with unusual rock formations, such as K'ungol, Yongwongol, Sangwongol and Pomgol attract mountain climbers.
Scattered around the mountain park area are various tourist attractions, such as Ipsoktae and Sejongdae Peaks, Kuryongso Pond, Seryom Waterfall and Kuryongsa and Sangwonsa Temples.
Cooking and camping are banned. The National Park Management Corporation forbids visitors from certain areas of the park to allow these areas a period of rest.
