Naksansa Temple

Location : Chonjin 1-ri, Kanghyon-myon, Yangyang-gun, Kangwon-do

Naksansa Temple, built by Uisangdaesa (a revered Buddhist monk) in the 16th year (676) of King Munmu of the Shilla Kingdom, is located between Soraksan Mountain and Naksan Provincial Park, and near Naksan Beach.
Inside the temple are such remains as Hongnyonam Hermitage, a bronze bell and Hongnyemun Gate.

The Shinsonbong Peak at Naksan is crowned by a Buddhist statue of Haesugwanumsang, which stands 16 meters high on a 2.8 meter-high pedestal.
