The clients of this project, a couple, enjoyed the openness of a traditional Japanese house. (They were able to talk with neighbors over a low hedge while sitting on an open veranda.) In order to provide their new house with similar openness, the architect covered the house with tent sheet to be used for canopies. The conditions in the house and the view from it can be controlled spontaneously by opening or closing this curtain wall in compliance with weather, season, time and so on.
