This gallery constructed of paper tubes was produced by Kitayama Institute for Issei Miyake Design Office. The gallery occupies a long, narrow space with a length of 16 meters and a height of 5.3 meters. The 13 paper tubes placed lined up on the street side are very powerful while the 43 paper tubes behind them form an impressive, gentle curve. Since the exterior walls must be fireproof, the lateral load is carried by the exterior walls while the paper tubes carry the vertical load.
