Furniture (shelves) is an indispensable element of any dwelling. In this project, it functions not only as an element of space composition but also as the main structural element. Two types of units were used -- one is 240 centimeters high, 90 centimeters wide and 45 centimeters deep, and the other is 240 centimeters high, 90 centimeters wide and 70 centimeters deep. These units, painted by furniture builders in a factory, were assembled at the site and joined to each other by a wood girder placed on their upper surfaces. Horizontal stiffness was secured by a plywood board for structural use which was mounted on the girder. This method is promising in its simple construction, preciseness and reduced costs.
